Although it is customary to maintain silence in libraries, now is an ideal time to make some noise about the generosity that you and other patrons have extended to deepen the support that the Rockaway Township Library has long enjoyed. This vibrant community center is used by more than 100,000 people of all ages each year. They visit to experience literature, music, film, and art, but also to develop their job skills, improve their businesses, learn new technologies, and much much more.
Over the years, your support of our Annual Appeal has allowed us to make several physical, technological, and aesthetic, improvements to the library. Most recently, we have been working to add a new amenity: a designated Quiet Room where patrons can focus without distractions and other noises that can sometimes hinder serious attempts at work and study. It will be a 700-square foot space in the rear of the main level, enclosed by a sound proof glass wall.
These projects we undertake help us keep pace with user needs as identified in patron requests and surveys. But our Quiet Room and other planned improvements can only be achieved through tax-deductible donations like yours because they are not covered by the municipal budget.
This year we’re again counting on your financial support. Please help us raise the volume on the need for contributing to the Library Foundation so we can continue to quietly enhance one of our community’s most valuable assets.
On behalf of the Rockaway Township Public Library Foundation, we thank you for your consideration.
