Here are some answers to our frequently asked questions.
When will the library reopen to the public?
Effective June 16th the library will open for front door pick up only Monday – Saturday from 9am-5pm.
Is front door pickup available?
Rockaway Township library card holders can begin placing holds on materials owned by the Rockaway Township Library starting Monday, June 15th; there is no date for the return of statewide delivery service so we do not have access to other libraries’ materials.
The Library will be closed to patrons, please wait until you’re contact that your materials are ready for pick up before you come to the library. While you can place multiple holds we will be limiting check outs to 5 adult and/or 10 children’s items at a time.
We are offering service to M.A.I.N. library card holders who drop off and pick up at our library.
What about my holds? Can I place a book on hold?
Your books and items already on hold are remaining on hold and you will not lose your place on those holds. Starting July 6th patrons can place holds on materials at all MAIN libraries but will have to travel to the items’ home library to pick it up. Library delivery services is currently suspended until further notice.
How can I return my books?
We accept returns at the book drop near the front door any time. We are accepting returns from any library in Morris county in addition to our materials. Hours open: Monday & Wednesday 9:00am-8:00pm, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday 9:00am-5:00pm.
My items are all overdue. What should I do?
All items have been renewed through September 8th and are not accruing fines.
I miss attending programs at the library! When will story times and programs be available again?
We miss offering in-person programming at the library too. We have been and will continue to offer performances through our webpage Virtual Resources and through Facebook. Miss Tara has been doing daily story times through our Facebook page and will be posting Summer Reading Club programs and activities too!
Can I get a library card?
Yes! Our services for new library cards has been available and will continue to be available after we reopen. If you’ve never had a library card in Morris county and you’re a Rockaway Township resident, you can apply online. If you do have a library card from Morris county and have recently moved to Rockaway Township and would like a card, contact us by chat, phone at (973) 627-2344 or by email at email@example.com.

We will quarantine all returned items for 72 hours as recommended by the Northeast Document Conservation Center.
